Taiwan IC design house Sonix estimates its sales will grow more than 10% sequentially in the third quarter, with July sales reported as NT$409 million (US$13.27 million), representing 2.07% sequential growth from NT$400 million in June, and hitting a company monthly sales record.

The company noted that its orders of consumer electronics products have recovered in July, and are expected to keep growing in August with higher demand expected as system makers prepare for the holiday season.

For its media chipset products, Sonix has orders for video image controllers from most Taiwan OEMs amid increased demand for low-cost notebooks. The company predicts its average monthly shipments of built-in image modules for notebooks in the third quarter will be over 5 million, representing a 10% increase from 4-4.5 million units last quarter.

Sonix expects its sales in August to remain at the same level with July, and if rush orders are received the company may hit a monthly sales record again.
